Outreach Project: CRC Formula 1 Game

The CRC Outreach Project is part of Project Metropolis which is funded by Science Foundation Ireland. The aim of the CRC Outreach Project is to build a mini-game within the Virtual Dublin environment where the final game-design is defined collaboratively with a participating class of students from Dublin’s Central Remedial Clinic. Since playing navigation games is therapeutic for mobility impaired children, the final game will be a driving-based game within the virtual simulation environment created for the Metropolis project. The design process is part of a curriculum exercise with the students providing the initial requirements and then participating in interactive design review/feedback sessions. The final mini-game will be installed as a semi-permanent facility in the CRC premises. The project is funding the acquisition of an appropriate PC and peripheral equipment to facilitate installation.
