Welcome to GV2

Welcome to the wesbite of GV2, the Graphics Vision and Visualisation group at the School of Computer Science and Statistics [SCSS], Trinity College Dublin [TCD], Ireland. We are an internationally active group dedicated to carrying out leading edge research in computer graphics, computer vision and all aspects of visual computing. GV2 was formed in 2006 with the integration of two long-standing TCD research groups: the Image Synthesis Group [ISG], established in 1993, and the Computer Vision and Robotics Group [CVRG], which was established 1983.

Terry Pratchett's "The Duel" featured on RTE

The Duel, is an animated short set in Terry Pratchet's Discworld and is produced by the Animation Hub, a collaboration between Irish School of Animation, Giant Creative and GV2.

GV2 to host Motion in Games Conference 2013
GV2 will also host the 6th International Conference on Motion in Games 2013. The conference chair is Dr. Rachel McDonnell and the event will be held in November 2013 at TCD.
 
GV2 to host Symposium on Applied Perception 2013

SAP 2013, the Symposium on Applied Perception will be held at Trinity College Dublin. Conference chairs will be Ludovic Hoyet of GV2 and Betsy Williams of Rhodes College. Details at: SAP 2013 webpage

 
Two papers published at ACM SIGGRAPH 2012

Congratulations to members of GV2 for having two papers accepted to SIGGRAPH this year: "Render me Real? Investigating the Effect of Render Style on the Perception of Animated Virtual Humans" is authored by Rachel McDonnell in collaboration with Martin Breidt and Heinrich Buelthoff of Max Planc Institute. "Push it Real: Perceiving Causality in Virtual Interactions" is authored by Ludovic Hoyet, Rachel McDonnell and Carol O'Sullivan.
